I always tell my young " Newbee" brakeman /switchman , " An Open Knuckle Is a Happy Knuckle...".. They always cut off their cars in a curve so you have a bitch of a time making a joint when you try to recouple. I tell them < " Cut them off on Straight track to hold one... They never get it... V
