DEC 6th entry --YIELD

Now I just wish people would understand the concept of yielding and do it. In the states-yield means if you are coming onto the highway,it is your job to merge into the traffic,by speeding up or slowing down accordingly, what happens is the vehicles come charging up the ramps and cars either have to brake or quickly change lanes to avoid collisions. I have seen crashes where the people charge up the ramp and don't look and figure the road is clear-and all of a sudden we have a crash

Well seen and explained.

interesting explanation... We have the same road sign without the word yield and it has the same effect... it means pay attention to the others...

Cool triangle, good find.

I agree....I sit at the top of the ramp and then find where I'll fit in and then move on down there. Just as irritating of folks not looking is to have them sit at the end of the ramp and then have them try to merge.....

I expect it the "II A -blob- II" that causes most accidents - road-signs are no place for small-print ;o)

In France it's 'Cedez le Passage' literally 'to yield' or 'give way'. As you say it doesn't always work like that!

Or they slam on the brakes before looking.... Great triangle addition for our challenge!
Kevin Chester07-Dec-2009 15:47
Cool shot, in the UK it says "Give way" but still uses the same Triangle

Good find for the challenge !!
In France, we have something similar but in reality it means "STOP!"

Here it's merge...if you arrive at the same speed as those travelling on the highway with correct distances in between then technically it should all run smoothly...however there's always the driver who obtained their license from the back of a Cornflakes carton out there...grrrrr !!

A yield sign in the state of Delaware is like playing Russian roulette! Good find Marlin! :-)

Great shot - not sure how the concept of "Yield" would go down in the UK - "Halt" we can cope with! ;)
Doug Cruden07-Dec-2009 07:21
Cool shot - there's about three triangles there :o)

a nice triangle, your story sounds rather hazardous a bit like the Melburnians drive too
I prefer the European way of merging traffic

Great find! This maes me wonder how hard it is going to getby the end of the month finding shapes and remaining somewhat original.
