Acela heading into the tunnel

This train was my actual goal while i was in the balloon, caught this trainset heading into the tunnel toward Penn Station. This station is served by Amtrak,SEPTA and NJ Transit. The Acela has a locomotive on each end,so you have to see it move to decide if you have the front or back

And a matching car as well. Excellent catch, and we have double ended trains in the UK as well.

...on this side that is the front, on the other side it would be the end.

Nice shot of this cool looking locomotive. Looks fast, but 70mph is probably top speed on the NE Corridor.

Looks like it's coming...though maybe it's going. Oh what the heck, enjoy the ride :))

This seems a high speed train to me. Nice catch.

Great capture, Marlin - we have these (or very similar) over here in the UK, they're great! IN fact, we were on one on Saturday going to London - I don't think it was 150mph, but we sure whizzed through the countryside :o))

Nice capture of this powerful Acela locomotive!

Agree car shows the size of it.

America's version of a high speed "bullet" train - too bad it doesn't go over 150mph or over 300mph like the Japanese or French trains. Nice shot car gives it scale.
