The last section of double track to be lifted was between South Sellers and Pee Dee. Track removal was completed in December 1962. The Pee Dee River Bridge has always been a single track structure and was one of only several single track sections between Richmond, VA and Savannah, GA. The line was single track from the north end of the Pee Dee River Bridge (A280.2) to WN (A282.8). Other single track segments included:
Appomattox River - Petersburg, VA (A23.0 to A23.3)
Roanoke River - Weldon, NC (A81.9 to A83.0)
Santee River - Santee Bluff, SC (A345.0) to Etta (A348.4)
Savannah River - Sand Island, SC (A477.8) to Chatham, GA (A480.8)
