North Selma

Late on the afternoon of May 14, 2011 a line of severe thunderstorms passed through Central North Carolina unleashing a deluge of rain. As the storm raged, our group took shelter to revel in the buffet at the Robbin's Nest Restaurant in Selma. Let it be known that no railfan trip to this area would be complete without Carolina style BBQ, baked beans, cornbread, sweet tea, and peach cobbler. Later that evening we arrived at the North Selma interlocking where the clouds had parted to reveal a full moon. As heat lightning danced in the distance the southbound signal for No. 2 track went to approach as seen in this puddle of rain water.
