Cole, Sol and I saw this drab, mostly gray vireo in a shaded grove on a cloudy day and thought it must be a Plumbeous Vireo (the expected species) but the yellow wash on flanks and vent caught our attention. Could this be a drably plumaged Blue-headed Vireo (for example, a female with worn or faded plumage)?. On page 2, these photos are autocorrected using the photo editing function of Microsoft Office Picture Manager, and except for the gray back, the field marks are more typical of Blue-headed Vireo (a rare migrant). Comments?
