Ths fly-by subadult jaeger was just off shore at Puerto Barrios, in Amatique Bay, Gulf of Honduras, on a windy, rainy day (17 January 2009). From the limited white on the upper primaries, it appears to be a Long-tailed Jaeger, which is supposed to only occur in the Caribbean rarely as a transient during spring and fall(Howell and Webb, Birds of Mexico and Northern Central America (1995). Unfortunately, I was only able to obtain these poor quality witness shots.
