This bird has been lingering at Denise Bretting's feeder in southwest Loveland. It is a Selasphorus species hummingbird (i.e. Broad-tailed/Rufous/Allen's/Calliope) because of the heavily spotted throat, and reddish-brown feathers on the flanks, and bright rufous bases of the outer tail feathers. The amount of rufous in the tail is less than most Rufous/Allen's hummingbirds, but more than Calliope. Furthermore the brownish feathers on the flanks are less rufous than typical for Rufous/Allen's. There is no hint of rufous in the upperparts, which is often evident in Rufous Hummingbird. Finally, the very broad R2 and shorter R1 in the tail indicates Broad-tailed.
