Half Moon Bay State Park, San Mateo County, California
I spent half a day at Venice Beach, Half Moon Bay, about 30 miles south of San Francisco on February 22, 2006. These are my best photos of this pleasant, gull-infested location on the Pacific Ocean.
A Western Gull accentuates this view looking north across the bay
Another northward vista - same Western Gull
Venice Beach is a favorite loafing site for gulls
The freshwater inlet is used for bathing and drinking by the gulls
The majority of these thousands of gulls are Western Gulls and Glaucous-winged Gulls (and many hybrids too)
