The identification of this digiscoped dowitcher, alone at Timnath Reservoir (Larimer County, Colorado) 15 Aug 2009, is cryptic. Help with identification would be appreciated. Sorry about the poor quality of the photos.
Update (Sep 2009): I believe that the pattern of the tertials indicates an adult bird, and that the shape indicates SBDO. Referring to Sibley's drawings of adult SBDOs, I am labeling this bird as a worn or molting adult Prairie Short-billed Dowitcher.
