March 30th: Off we go in a first class bus, leaving Ojinaga at 6AM. The driver was immaculately dressed, French cuffs and all, and drove down the middle of the highway, mostly. A change to a second class bus for Creel and the huge Chihuahua bus terminal got me to Margarita's in time to snatch the last private room.

I had to spend a lot of the next daying doing some camera repair, so most of these pictures are from April 2nd.

Creel is an old lumber and mining town making a conversion to tourism, drug production trading center - that kind, and lumber, still. The town has a delightful, perpetual smell of pine smoke, the fuel for heat and cooking. Loinclothed Tamahumara indians walk past the internet cafes with satellite or DSL access. Spring was just arriving there because of the high altitude, and I timed my visit with some unseasonal rains.
