We had our first rain on Saddleback....the first in about 100 days on Oct 2nd....about .05" (or .02" if you belive the RAWS station). Nicely saturates the fall colors.
This is either a Jeffrey or Ponderosa pine cone.....if you trust the old saying about "Gentle Jeffrey, Prickly Ponderosa', then this appears to be Ponderosa.
