I have a clear view of the sunset as it approaches the horizon so I simply place one of the hummingbird feeders in the direction of the sun and snap away. At f14, I get pretty good depth of field, and though the sun is out of focus, it tends to keep it's shape especially as it begins to set behind the horizon.
