Rose and I would always look forward to the day when the sun rises over the center of the Sierra Buttes as seen from the west. It was a little to the north of the Buttes Lookout this morning, and will likely be to the south of it tomorrow. It's always on either the 19th or 20th of October, and leap year dependent. The Buttes are 12 air miles from Saddleback LO.
