The Unexpected Visitor (Phidippus otiosus?)

Williamsburg, VA

Last night we had an unexpected visitor -- he stayed on my desk and kept me company as I edited some photos. He apparently liked hanging out on my hands and alpaca sweater in particular. As best as I can figure he came in with my son that had been playing in a wood pile -- I've never seen one of these jumping spiders inside my house or during Winter. I put him on the wood pile and hope that this was the right thing to do.

After looking at some of the macro photos on the big screen, especially the ones with his fangs, I'm glad he was so friendly :-)
