Tiny Little Flower

Richmond, VA

Less than 5mm across. Anyone know the name?

Lovely image! It's some kind of Veronica ("speedwell"). That's a huge diverse genus, familiar both as wildflowers and as cultivated ornamentals. The various plants range from tiny ground covers to tall spikes, but the flowers identify them: bilateral symmetry with four petals and two stamens reaching out like arms. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Veronica_%28plant%29

Not sure if it's a "forget-me not" - don't those grow in little bunches?

These were growing in a lawn from very short stems (<5cm), with a single flowers from each stem. In places there were enough little flowers to color the lawn a very nice blue/violet from far away.
