Notophthalmus viridescens

Amphibians have the most amazing eyes. Apparently these appear (or at least are easily found) for just a few days of the year. Came across 5 of them in a cement culvert being lazy in the sun... maybe their first foray on to land after their initial aquatic stage. So it's sort of like watching evolution sped up.
