I caught this “street photograph” from a bus window in St. Petersburg, Russia this past August.

According to an article in the July 14, 2010 New York Times, the Russian government is encouraging shops like this as a way of trying to address the “problem” of a declining Russian birth rate and falling population! Looks like attempts at central planning of production still live in the “New Russia.”
