Moorpark Fire

Moorpark, CA

This shot was taken on the freeway overlooking Moorpark on our way back
from church. At this point, the smoke was turning white & we thought the
Fire Dept. had it under control. Problems arose when the winds kicked up
to 70 mph gusts, blowing chunks of burning wood all over (not just little
embers) By the time the Fire Dept. had it under control, 5 homes were
destroyed & a few more damaged ~ God Bless 'Em All!

Awesome shot, and great narration. Glad to see other photographers are taking an interest in helping others whenever we can.

Very nice capture. Those Santa Ana winds are very dangerous with a fire around.

Now you're doing photo journalism, you are talented. God bless the poor folks that lost thier home. This is really suprising so late in the season.

Dry hills and winds... never a good combination :(

Beautiful scenic Colleen. From the shot alone one wouldn't know of the tragedy unfolding. Hopefully no one was hurt--stuff can always be replaced.
