Grand Teton National Park 2004

Kathy and I decided to go to Grand Teton National Park over Labor Day week in 2004. We backpacked the Teton Crest Trail over the first four days of our vacation, then day hiked for the remainder of the trip. We also took a one day trip into Yellowstone National Park to see the highlights, we will have to go back sometime soon to see Yellowstone in more detail. We saw so many animals on this trip including a momma bear and two cubs, moose, coyote, bison, pronghorn, elk, marmots, pikas, mule deer, an osprey catching fish, and many others. We had perfect weather for all eight days, and saw the sun rise and set each morning and night. Temperatures, even in early September, dropped below freezing at night, although days were quite mild. Of the national parks I have been to I would say Grand Teton is second only to Glacier National Park. Hope you enjoy the pictures of our wonderful trip.

My Husband and I visited the Tetons and Yellowstone in Sept. 2008. It was beautiful and we had perfect weather every day! We are going back the end of May. (2010) I'm expecting wet valley trails and snow covered mountain trails, with probably lots of clouds and rain? I know it will still be very scenic. Although I love both parks, I'm partial to the Tetons and the canyon area of Yellowstone for the scenic views. I am hoping to see some young wildlife.

Loved your pics of the Grand Teton Park. I was there last in June of 94, and it snowed 6 to 8 inches on the morning of June 14th. It was my birtday. Could not have ask for a better present. It was so cool. We live in Georgia near Atlanta. It does not snow here very mcuh at all anymore. I even found "grits" a southern favorite of mine in a store in West Yellowstone. Your gallery and galleries are causing me get the urge to return. I was orginally born in Cheyenne Wyoming but folks moved back to Georgia after 2 years. I do want to return soon. The "itch" is getting to me after veiewing your galleries. Thanks for much for sharing your photos. From Frank & Linda Foster

I would like to thank you for posting these photos. I have visited this gallery many times. I day hiked in the Tetons in the summer of 2004, and thanks in large part to these images, I have decided to backpack the Teton Crest Trail as soon as I am able.

Very nice pictures! And I like that fact you guys are backpackers/hikers so you can get pictures most others will never see. My wife and I also hike/backpack in the mountians and are planning a trip to the Tetons/Yellowstone this summer, we were going to split the trip 4 days in each park doing day hikes, but maybe Tetons are more scenic? Waht kind of camera equipment do you use? I'll be toting a Pentax DSLR this summer, hope the extra weight is worth the quality.
