After a late night at the ER and sixteen stitches in my palm, we decided to take it easy as we continued with our itinerary. The next day we made our way to Pine Creek Campground, with a stop in Livingston along the way to walk around downtown. We spent a leisurely late afternoon and evening in the campground - which had really nice campsites. We had initially planned to hike to Pine Creek Lake the next morning, but instead just made the short walk to Pine Creek Falls (2.5 miles RT) and spent the afternoon there reading, relaxing, and looking for cool rocks.
At this point we were about halfway through our trip and had planned for one night in Billings to do laundry, clean up, get groceries, visit some thrift stores, and have dinner with a friend at The Windmill. We were also able to squeeze in a visit after dinner to Zimmerman Park to check out the views. Then it was back to the mountains!
