Philadelphia

When planning our East Coast trip we knew we wanted to rent a place somewhere to spend a long weekend with our good friends and we settled on Philadelphia. Norah and I had visited Philadelphia once before and had a good time and we were looking forward to going back. Especially since there was so much we missed on our first visit. We rented an Airbnb in the Little Saigon/Passyunk Square area - chosen for the size and price - and the location worked well. We were within walking distance of the Italian Market, South Philly Barbacoa, and other restaurants and could easily Uber to other sites in the city. We had a great mix of activities - some history, some unique places, some zen, and plenty of eating to sample all the great foods. It was fun to explore Philadelphia and even better to do so with our friends. We had a fantastic time! This was our final itinerary:

Day 1: Late afternoon arrival in Philadelphia, dinner at Sophie’s Kitchen, cannolis at King Cannoli, walking around the neighborhood

Day 2: The Mütter Museum, lunch at Rione Pizza, Schuylkill River Walk, required Rocky pictures, Shofuso Japanese House and Garden, Italian Market for dinner at the house

Day 3: South Philly Barbacoa for breakfast, Independence Hall walking tour, late lunch at Reading Terminal Market, twilight tour at Eastern State Penitentiary, charcuterie dinner at the house

Day 4: Chinatown Food Tour, drive to the Hudson Valley
