In late July Norah got her first taste of the White Mountains in New Hampshire. We met Rob, Bob, Denise, and Hong for our third annual Presidential Traverse. We went a day early and hiked Lafayette (eight miles RT and over 4000 feet elevation gain -- our hardest hike to date with Norah). The weather was gorgeous so we were able to enjoy an extended stay at the summit where Norah played and checked out the fellow hikers (and vice versa, everybody loves seeing Norah on the trail!).

Saturday while Steve and the others were huffing and puffing there way across the traverse, Norah and I had a leisurely morning then drove the auto road to the top of Mt. Washington to meet them for lunch. The weather held and the crew finished another successful traverse in the evening. We rounded out our weekend by hiking Welch and Dickey on Sunday. A great weekend in the Whites!

We're thrilled that so far Norah loves hiking. She likes being outside in general and another favorite is swinging (the previous owners of the house left behind their swing set, score!). She usually has a big grin on her face and giggles when you let her go.
