For the first few days Lucy's safe place was under our bed and under our old couch turned on its side on the upstairs landing. Although she was skittish, if she was hiding under the bed and I got down to pet her, she would come out right away and follow me downstairs to the living room to play. Each day she got a little less timid and after a few days was sleeping in our bed, playing with us, sleeping on our laps, and more comfortable with her surroundings and noises.
