Monday morning we actually saw some blue sky and the sun. Whoo hoo! We caught a bus to Gaupne and had the driver drop us off in front of Nes Gard, where we stayed for two nights (hands down our favorite lodging on our trip). Nes Gard is an old house (built in the 1800's) that was converted to a bed and breakfast. The owners, Asjborn and Marty, are teachers and in the summer tend to Nes Gard. They were very friendly and helpful and made our stay a pleasant one.

For being in a more rural area, Nes Gard was pretty noisy between the clanging of the sheeps' bells and the loud birds (in particular some bird that has this weird clacking noise. When we first heard it on a hike we didn't realize it was a bird).
