Lost World Epic

We continued through the cave and reached a deep spot where we had to swim. At the end of this spot we hooked in to a rope and they belayed us while we cimbed up a small section of rock. There was a natural bench up on a ledge and we were all sitting there waiting for whatever was coming next. One of the guides, Ian, walked by us and situated himself in this hole. He had us turn off our lights so we were in total darkness and he counted down from three. He dropped through the hole and a few seconds later we heard a splash. I thought he was joking about all of us dropping through the hole, but he was serious. Steve and I were last and watched as several of the girls had to be cajoled to go through the hole. I wasn't so sure about it, but when it was my turn and I got to the hole, it wasn't bad at all (much worse just listening to people scream as they dropped). The drop was no more than ten feet and it was actually fun to do.

Further down the cave we came to a large pool of water at the base of a waterfall. Some people opted to climb up the waterfall and others the ladder. When we were at the top we had the option of jumping off the small cliff into the pool below. Most of us opted out (it looked high!), but Steve and another guy jumped about 25 feet into the water. After this we crossed the rocks above the waterfall and had to slide on our stomachs through a cave within the cave. When we came to the other end there were several stalactites and one large stalactite and stalagmite joined. From this point we jumped about 15 feet into a pool and Ian did a flip. After this spot there was no more jumping.

This picture is of one of our guides, Brad, squeezing through a tight spot in the water along the way.
