Helicoptor on Tasman Glacier

The weather for the first day of our mountaineering course was supposed to be clear in the morning and deteriorate in the afternoon, but when we woke up it looked like it was getting an early start. We were picked up by Alpine Guides at 8:30 and had a flight scheduled for 11:30. We met our guide Lisa and started to sort through our gear to figure out what we needed to rent and pack. Although we were flying in we had to be conscious of our pack weight in case we would need to walk out at the end of our trip. With that in mind, we packed in a hurry as they wanted to move our flight up on account of the weather. We got to the airstrip and had to wait because our scheduled helicoptor, which was bringing people back from the mountains, had a busted door that they fixed with duct tape. Another helicoptor finally arrived and we flew over the Tasman Glacier and landed below Kelman Hut. This picture was taken from the hut looking down on the landing area when another party flew in a few days later.
