Coral Snake (?)

After Half Dome we hiked the remaining 1.5 miles to get a campsite at Little Yosemite Valley, a well established backcountry campground. This snake wasn't far from our campsite (non-poisonous, the only poisonous snake in Yosemite is a rattlesnake). Black bears like to frequent this spot and we woke up in the middle of the night when somebody in the campground was banging on their pots and yelling "get out, go away". For all the hoopla on bears there (and the pleasure of lugging around an extra bear cannister which is required), we only saw a bear along the road when we drove up to Glacier Point.
