As we descended Cerro de le Muerte we entered an oak forest, which was markedly different from the beginning of our hike. Our guide, Melvin, pointed out many different plants, some of which we could even taste. We bagged a mushroom (Boletus auriporus) that his wife cooked for us at dinner that night (tasted good!).
