The trail emerged from Echo Canyon and we resumed our climb. After a mile we came to the junction with the East Rim Trail (where Steve would run the following day) and then the trail climbed more steeply up a series of switchbacks. The trail turned west back towards the main canyon and we started to have some great views of Zion Canyon.
