Anta and Huaraz are located in the Callejon de Huaylas Valley and bordered by Cordillera Blanca and Cordillera Negra, whose peaks can be seen from the towns. The peak in this picture is Huascaran in the Cordillera Blanca; the tallest mountain in Peru at 6,768 m/22,205 ft.
