The bridge opened to traffic in October 2010 and there is a pedestrian walkway accessible from the Nevada side. The parking lot has a capacity for ~ 70 vehicles and it was not a problem for us to get a spot, but I think it can be difficult at peak visitation times (when we drove back to Las Vegas after Thanksgiving we couldn't believe how far the traffic was backed up from the dam). The walkway is the only way to see the dam from the bridge - it is not visible when driving across the bridge. A set of stairs and a ramp lead through some information exhibits to the sidewalk. The bridge is 1900 feet long (~ .40 miles).
