There are some great hikes from Moraine Lake including Sentinel Pass and Wenkchemna Pass that we had previously hiked. We hadn't hiked in Paradise Valley and stopped there first on our second day in the area, but got impatient waiting for other hikers (restricted to minimum group size of four). We continued to Moraine Lake and decided to hike to Sentinel Pass. We didn't have to wait long before we joined a group of four hikers heading that way. If they were skeptical at first of hiking with a kid, they got over it quickly as Norah blazed up the trail. The hike is 2.4 km/1.5 miles to Larch Valley and we made good time. From there it is 3.4 km/2 miles to Sentinel Pass (total hike is 11.6 km/7 miles and 724 m/2376 ft elevation gain).
