Near the end of our trip we had most of a day to spend in Yellowstone. We got an early start from Colter Bay in the Tetons to allow ourselves the bulk of the day to explore Yellowstone (we stayed the night at Old Faithful Inn). Upon entering the park our first stop was the West Thumb Geyser Basin. Fishing is prohibited here now, but apparently in the past fishermen would fish from the cone and cook their catch directly on the line in the hot water. When we visited this area last year the cone was completely submerged.
