This area of the traverse was called Gaiselleite in our book (also marked as La Crodetta on our map): "the terrain becomes more earthy and crumbly with several exposed passages". These sections were aided with chains and cables bolted into the rock. It was not difficult, we just took care with our steps. After this section we were back in a grassy area with dead Arolla pines (lightning strikes).
