A popular feature at West Thumb Geyser Basin is Fishing Cone (not always submerged). A long time ago fisherman would fish from the cone, then dip their trout right into the spring to cook them on the hook. Fishing is no longer allowed in this area (too many people have died by falling into the hot springs in this area).
