We had an extra day after our backpacking trip in the Wind River Range and wanted to stay somewhere in Yellowstone to break up the long drive back to Billings. We called the reservation line frequently and finally scored a cancellation for a room at Grant Village. Grant Village is near the West Thumb Geyser Basin, which we visited when we got to the park.
