Badwater

After hiking the Gower Gulch and Golden Canyon loop we continued down Badwater Road to visit Natural Bridge and Badwater. At -282 feet below sea level, Badwater is the lowest point in North America. Exposed land below sea level requires a dry climate and evaporation leaves behind salt flats. The salt flats were neat to explore and Norah especially liked searching out interesting salt crystals. Really cool spot and a must see on any trip to Death Valley.

Here is more information on the salt flats from the Death Valley National Park Service webpage.
