Antelope Canyon - this is THE premiere spot in the Page area. Everybody who comes through Page stops to marvel at these gorgeous sandstone slot canyons. There are two canyons - Upper and Lower. Because Upper is a flat walk and the location of the iconic sunbeam shot, it's more heavily visited. To avoid crowds and having to book a tour (plus, March is too early for THE sunbeam shot), we opted to visit Lower Antelope Canyon. We were able to get a photographer's pass (basically meaning we had a tripod), which allowed us two hours to wander around the canyon at our leisure to take pictures (easier said than done, there were still a lot of people there).

There are some ladders and tight spots to navigate, but it's not a problem to hike through Lower Antelope Canyon. From reading I had thought March wasn't the ideal month for pictures, so I was pleasantly surprised to get a few sunbeam shots anyway. The colors and curves in Lower Antelope Canyon were gorgeous but we all agreed we liked the experience of the other slot canyons we visited better (Water Holes and Buckskin Gulch). I'm still glad we stopped though to see this famous canyon - its beauty does live up to the hype.
