Descent from Sangda La.


Sangda Phedi (lower left) should have been our destination on that day. However, our porters chose the river path instead of crossing Sangda La, and we failed to meet them. We had to follow them to Sangda (terraced fields at top-center of the frame). This required descending all the way down to the river (3870m), climbing up the opposite river bank and continuing there crossing two side streams (up and down again..), which altogether made for a rather long and tiring day.
