This was a rather rare serious ice storm, in Lexington, KY during February 2003. Trees and grass were covered by the ice. So were the roads. So it was very dangerous to drive. Schools were cancelled for two days.
Some trees were broken due to the heavy loads of ice. As they broke, they hit powerlines and even houses. Although the scenes were extraordinary, the damage was too.
