April 14

This is a sculpture at the Dachau Concentration Camp memorial. I have been there twice, and this sculpture has had a huge impact both times: basically, a barbed-wire fence made of people....

I have a few other images from the memorial in my general travels gallery: for example, the gate, with its ironic welcome: http://www.pbase.com/image/95508425

An amazing sculpture, and heartbreaking. You've captured beautifully emotional remembrance of a terrible time in the world. I look at this and it brings home the pain and suffering experienced by these poor people, and I have to consider what could ever lead anyone to commit such dreadful acts against another human being. Thanks for sharing this Peter.
