Melting snow, and construction

Once the snow finally starts melting, the water often has nowhere to go, since the drains are still covered in ice. This can lead to very deep puddles. Which also means you need to be careful where you park: leaving the car in 6 inches of water in the evening can result in a car in 6 inches of solid ice by morning.
