On some kind of thistle in my garden. Although the colour of the flowers is nice, I really don't like the thistles (the previous owners had planted several) and I was all set to rip them out until I saw how much they attracted pollinators. There are 3 plants, and once the flowers start to open, they are crawling with butterflies, bees, and wasps. At any given moment, there are easily 10 different kinds of bees and wasps. So I still want to get rid of them, but now I can't until I find something that I both like and is attractive/good for pollinators..... I guess this is my contribution to "Bring back the bees" (well, that, and trying not to use herbicides and pesticides).
