I managed to catch this tree on my walk home from the bus just as it was catching the light from the setting sun, with the ground in shadow.

I hope this tree survives. It is in a formerly industrial area next to the Lachine canal that is becoming "Villa Nova," a massive development of condos, with some shops and also a new train station. The Lachine canal is just behind the trees in the background. Scarily, the part of Villa Nova that is on the other side of the street (behind me as I was shooting) was where the Jensen factory used to be, and for a long time has been quite contaminated land. I hope it has been cleaned up well enough....
