Sometimes it is better to be lucky than good: I was working on some long exposures of the current flowing when I saw a heron land in the perfect spot, just catching a bit of light from the parking lot. And since herons can stand very still while hunting, I could still use the long exposure to get the flow and the parking lot light added just enough to the heron to make it pop.
