The old town is under-represented in my galleries, I will try to adress this problem in 2015. It is by far the most important monument of medieval architecture in Latvia. The skyline is dominated by churches - Dom, St.Peter's, St Jacob's. They all date from 13th century. Not everything is equally old and authentic. Parts were destroyed in both world wars and not all replacements are of equal quality, to put it mildly. Old town is surrounded by Riga Channel that was initially dug for fortification purposes, now it is surrounded by a chain of parks.
