Snow at La Silla Observatory

This is a collection of images taken on August 28th, 2002, after an unusual snow storm where snow falled down to very low altitudes. Some snow can be seen even on the valley slopes. All images have been taken using a polarizer filter.

Hi Peter,

Very beautiful photos. The ones with the flowers too.
As Phillipe sayd these photos bring me very nice memories too.
They remember a lot the ones I've taken in 97 during

Dear Peter,

Amaizing, lovely pictures. I'll add some of these to the ones I have in my mind. When I'm feeling low, I just to think of La Silla's starry, sheltering sky and it's telescopes, standing there like silent, white doves looking up. Images like these bring me peace.

Tus fotografias de La Silla cubierta de nieve me han traido gratos recuerdos de aquellos dias en que trabaje en el Observatorio. Pude ver el SEST sobre la colina nevada, la foto es espectacular.
