Most visitors to Spearfish Canyon only tour the lower part of the Canyon, from Cheyenne Crossing to the town of Spearfish. The 30 mile drive through the upper part of the canyon to the foothills of the Black Hills and the town of Newcastle, Wyoming has some spectacular scenery and is a snowmobiler's paradise.
