"Black Squirrel"

What is commonly called a black squirrel is actually a black morph of the eastern gray squirrel. The black morph is overall black with a
reddish brown shine. The tail may also be reddish brown as is the case for our visitor. The black morph is born black and stays
black. In our experience, the black morph easily intimidates the eastern fox even though it is much smaller.
